Introduction

This site has the primary purpose to warn everyone about the possibilities of disaster. It is not a doomsday site. As we think there are many more likely things that can happen then the end of the world. However when you are faced with a real life threatening disaster, you may feel the world is coming to an end.

When this happens, the difference between a hard time and a life threatening time is up to you. It’s up to what you do to prepare. When your life is threatened there is no more need for money or for your expensive items. The real currency will be food and water.

Do not shy away from spending money on things that could spare your life and the lives of those who you love. It’s all pretty basic, just start with what you can and build on it. Water is the first thing to get, anyone can find things to put water in. Just keep building on it. Then the food, buy things that will last. The point is, be practical and think ahead.

Once you have begun this you will feel like you can be the master of your own fate. You will not be left to the elements waiting for someone else to rescue you. Look at the TV when a disaster strikes, even the richest and most powerful countries take weeks to save many people, while these people are dying of starvation and thirst in their own homes.

This is an introduction. We will provide information and give you a taste of it. You need to find your own set of things to do that will suit your own situation better.

At Survive Club, we want to prepare for anything, so we train and build our supplies, we organise things like a military operation. Anyone who wants to link with us on this level is welcome to do so. We are constantly recruiting people and we seek alliances with others who may have their own Units set up. As if there is a long term problem, it is these communities that will survive the longest. With skills, teamwork and a larger pool of man power a community can live and sustain itself much easier.

Possible disasters and civilisation break downs that could happen in NZ:
  • Large scale weather damage caused by storms.
  • Earthquake.
  • Flooding.
  • Oilcrash.
  • Power shortage emergencies.
  • Water Shortage.
  • Disease outbreak.
  • Invasion by a foreign power.

Problems for the public:
  • Supermarkets and other food outlets closed.
  • Transport Problems.
  • Housing shortages.
  • Large scale death and the pollution that death brings.
  • Large scale criminal activity (Mainly looting and home invasions by those seeking food and water).

Individual Problems caused by disaster:

As stated above, most things we are used to will not be available. People will die of thirst in their own homes because the water mains have been turned off. Once sewage and other pollution gets into the rivers and main water supply, there is large scale death caused by people drinking the water as they get desperate.
  • People can die of thirst and hunger within 3 days (with some water they can last a couple of days longer).
  • Everyone will get desperate when they know they are dying and they will try to take what other people have to survive.
  • During these things everyone is vulnerable to trauma injuries and other health related problems, but medical staff may be either to busy or not available at all.
  • Mental Panic will kill many people as they do crazy things to try and survive. Chaos will take over and the remnants of civilisation dissolve as people get further from their last meal and drink.
Prepare your survival strategy. Copy the check list from this site and the food storage guideline, then build on them.
